Posting this tip never occurred to me until yesterday when I was reading Bassmaster tips. They said to put a shower cap over your graph. Which is a good idea till you get moisture in there with the hot sun beating on it.
Ever since I have had my graph on my boat, I put a stocking cap over it (like the one you wear in the winter) when not in use. For transporting on the boat, it keeps the sun and dirt off of it. Another advantage is since I use Hummingbird, it has a quick release so when I take it off the boat to put it in the truck or my boat bag I don't have to worry about it getting the screen scratched up. Like I said this is just something I always do and never thought of actually posting it

That's a great idea DB, a sonar is an expensive investment that needs to be protected, so this is a money saving tip in my book  :-* ~c~ ~c~ ~c~

I like this one!  I put on / take off / put on / take off my SI unit and even though it has a cover there are times I could use something a little softer and more convenient.

Great tip!!! I use the hummingbird fitted covers on my units and I also use the hummingbird water proof mount cover for when the unit is off the boat it keeps water out of the connectors,
