After I paint my bullet-weights. I will let them dry for a few hours. After I know they are dry I take a bottle of KRAZY-GLUE and dab 2 dots on both sides of the bullet-weight. Then I press on 2 of those holographic eyes you can buy at BASSPROSHOPS and let them sit over nite. Now, I have given my softplastics eyes. Which is what bass go for when they attack something they want to eat.  REMEMBER: SHHHHHH!!!!
1 is luck, but 2 is a pattern!

I just go to WALMART and buy a can of the Krylon Paints. Nothing fancy. This little tip gives me so much confidence.

That right there is key and often over looked by people.

In my BASSPRO you can find the press-on eyes near the saltwater section. Just ask a rep, they will point you in the right direction.

If someone wants to try putting eyes on their weights or jigs and doesn't have access to the press on eyeballs, find a nail with the head about the same diameter that you'd like for the eye.  Then get another nail slightly smaller.  Dab the larger nail head into white or red paint and put a drop in each place.  Let them dry.  Then use the smaller nail and dab that into black or red enamel and place a pupil in the center of the previous eyeball.

Bingo, custom colored eyeballs on weights or jigheads.

And if you really want to get technical, use a drill bit the same diameter as the eye and drill a recess in the bullet weight (or spinnerbait head). I don't know if the eyes make any difference...I use the ones that roll around inside the plastic bubble (they make a distinctive rattle) that I get at craft shops...but I'll take any advantage I can get to get a few more bites.

What colors do you usually paint your weights?

I would paint mine that same color as the plastic baits I use. If that wasn't possible, I find that black, brown or olive green colors are the best.

I got a buddy of mine that uses fingernail polish on his bullet weights. You would be surprised and all the different colors that there are

I have been using this idea for years.  Many of the new jigs and crankbaits the eyes come off very easily and by painting them back on you don't have to bother messing around with them again.
