Complete new hull design from Cat. This hull was built to bridge the gap with  guys that want to go fast, and have a comfortable bass tournament rig...with a 250, I would guess mid to high 80's with a TX load ?

Here's a link to Bass Cats facebook page, with photo documentation of the Prototype build process.

Amazing what goes into a build.

I saw a post by the main man at BassCat on BBC forum about some of the things they do to their builds. Very impressive. He was answering question as to why a BC cost $10,000 more than a similar competitors rig. Very good read but till you know what the competitors put in their boats it's not a comparison.

Most competitors will not disclose what they put in their builds,  Bass Cat uses all quality material and it shows in how their boats hold up.  No shortcuts, they evolve every few years and improve on anything that does not hold up.  They did away with the standard faux wood grains and plastic dash shrouds that most companies still use because these products will fade over a few years in the sun, and do not hold screws well after a few years.  They now use all fiberglass/gelcoat on dashes, consoles to eliminate the plastics.

Cheap drop in plastic storage boxes are another design they do not use, still a lot of competitors use them. Cat uses All hand laid glass boxes, that are structurally laminated to the hull to strengthen and form a one piece hull, acts as bracing to the hull to lessen flexing, and less flexing = no stress cracking.
The top cap and  hull are glassed together to form a one piece monocoque design that further reduces flexing and adds to a rock solid ride.

USA made steel in their boat trailers, all C channel, no cheap tube designs that rust from the inside out.

A lot of little things Bass Cat does that you will never see from the outside of the boat, that is why they rank # 1 in quality.

Now that's one I didn't know but makes good sense.  ~c~

As Basscat7 stated, That's why I purchased a Bass Cat, they are built better than most other brands out there.

Just discovered this site.  Wow!  Very impressive resource.

I was fortunate to own the first consumer Eyra off the assembly line.  Unfortuantely,  I am downsizing and I just sold my Eyra/250SHO.  I'm going down the the SabreFTD so I'm still happy as long as I'm in a BassCat.   All I can say is the Eyra is absolutely the best 20' I've ever been in.   Not fishing much these days so I need a smaller boat thats more appropriate to my fishing style these days.   If I was still serious tournament fishing the Eyra would still be in my garage.   Dry ride,  very secure feeling behind the wheel, most nimble boat I've experience and fishing layout is very well thought out.

I ran it good before I sold it.  I hit 81.6 mph on the GPS and it has room to go even higher on the speedo.
