Got out yesterday to fish bass in the backwaters of the Mississippi river. I have had a hot bite on in-line spinners in the last couple of weeks and i was hoping that it would stay alive despite the cold front and the water going up fast. Luckily, it did. It took a while, but they finally started biting. The problem with this pattern is that most of the fish are shorties; 12-13 inchers. I did catch one keeper on the in-line, but for the other two keepers i caught today, i needed to search for them. I was throwing a swim jig on a weedy cove to catch my biggest bass of the day which was a skinny 17 incher. I proceeded to catch a lot of bass on the spinner but once again, no size. I did catch one more keeper on a rattle trap in about 4 FOW on the edge of a big weedbed. It was a fun day, but i will learn from it and use some bigger baits today. Ended up catching over 20 bass on the day.

Ill let you know how it went today....
