ive used a regular jig that you bottom fish with, but have never tried a swim jig.  im going to try and hit a local farm pond this weekend if the weather holds out and wanted to try a few new techniques, swim jig is one of them.

can you offer me some pointers or techniques ??

A jig with a bullet head works the best, but any jig will do if your just trying it out.  I usually use either a 1/4 ounce or 3/8 ounce with a big twistertail grub on it and then just reel it right in.  YOu can mix up the depths and retrieve speeds and don't be afraid to burn it across the top.  It'll be like a soft plastic buzzbait.  Pretty deadly.

should look like this or a double twister works good also.

dead on buz, i think the most important thing is to keep it light.  i tried the booyah swim jigs, and didn't really like them.  went to a 1/4 oz hand pour, and it works like a charm.  another thing to thing about is if you are fishing around millfoil or hydrilla, make sure you keep it compact.  dont want your swim jig picking up alot of grass.  my best luck comes alot in scattered hydrilla, ripping it through clumps of grass, and killing it, the light jig sinks slowly and it just fires 'em up.  good luck
