I received my (new to me) HB 1197 SI loaded with navionics/hotmaps today.  I bought it used and got a sweet deal on it.  I have been waiting diligently for delivery.  I got it today, was like a kid at Christmas.  I have been reading up on these things and doing a little study prior to purchasing one. (they don't really give them away)
I figured that I could handle the install pretty easily.  To make a long story short - 8 hours later. :embarassed: with lots of fussing, cussing, scratches, scrapes, bruises, fiberglass, carpet burns and sore back from being a contortionist, I finally powered up the unit and it works!    ~c~ ~c~

My wife has been coming out to check on my progress and snicker a little here and there.  She even had the gumption to ask me if it wouldn't have been easier to have it professionally installed!   :o
Some women, they just don't understand...

I guess I am glad I am not charging myself by the hour, but am darn glad it is installed!  I can't wait to get on the water tomorrow!

Update: Got it on the water, with only a few minor adjustments it works perfectly!  I have been on this lake 100's of times and have found structure I had no Idea was there!!!  This is soooooo kewl!

BTW, special thanks to JEVSKEETER for all his patience and assistance with the installation/instruction with this unit...He is a serious credit to Humminbird!

That's awesome. Now all you have to do is figure out how to operate it. ~roflmao

I bought a used computer and Navionics program from him too a while back. He's real sharp on the sonars gps and sideimaging.

I'm running a 997 now and it has opened up my eyes.

~roflmao oh you funny guy, Mr. Rattle!  lo  I think I am getting the hang of it, not as difficult as I assumed it would be.  I am really digging on the "snapshot" feature.  Will post some pics after this weekends outing on T.Bend
