I inherited a couple of the old Abu Garcia Pro Max 1600 Reels. These seem to be great reels. Any thoughts on quality of these reels?
Also: I was wondering if anyone knows the line capacities of these reels?

Check out this link, it has a little info about those reels, it's an old article from the New York Times from 1992.   http://www.nytimes.com/1992/09/19/news/a-big-reel-for-those-big-fish.html

Great reels, not as fancy as newer models but a work horse! Practice is the only way to learn and be sure to leave your frustration factor at home :)

You are very welcome and like Mike say's, Don't give up on them. It will take some practice to get the casting down.
