OK guy's tell me why this happened. Several weeks ago I had the boat out pre fishing. I was running over 5000 rpm's when i lost one of the ears on my 27 pitch trophy prop. I did not hit anything however I may have lifted the jackplate a little high. At any case Merc replaced the prop under warranty for me since the rig is under a year old. Now while I was waiting for a new prop I get a new power pole installed on the boat. To mount the power pole correctly a plate was needed to be installed between the Bob's 8" Jackplate and the hull. It is about a 1/2 inch plate. Now my new prop comes in and I take the boat out for a ride. Boy what a difference. More bow lift and for an 19x2 with a 225 it's running just under 75 mph and the handling is great. Was it the prop or a change in the set back?

Any ideas?

Could be a combination of both. You have the prop running in cleaner water with more setback.

That's kind of what I thought too. I have another prop a 26 fury and I will try that to see if it acts different as well. Trust me the boat handles much better no complaints here but it was a shock to me how different it was. I also know that no two props are the same.

Let us know how that Fury performs for ya'.

Took it out this morning with the 26 fury and she hit 73.5 at 5800 rpms. Again a different boat. So I guess the setback has made a difference. Either way I am happy. The trophy does run faster by myself. But during a tournament with two people and full livewells the fury gets the call.

All in all the 1/2" added setback gave the boat more bow lift.

Thanks for sharing. I was curious to see how that Fury would perform. Does it come out of the hole any better than the Trophy or about the same?

Big difference out of the hole with the fury no question.

That's what I've been hearing. Thanks.

Bob try running the fury lower than the trophy. A friend of mine has a new 08 x2 with 225 pro xs and with my 26 fury he got 77.8 in 75-80 air temps and 73-74 degree water temps. But we had to lower his manual plate to get the speed. Just wanted to pass that on to you.

Would like to hear more on this...I have ran that fury every way from the sun and have only hit 74 a few times..The trophy was the best at 74.8. Only know one other guy on another board got 75 and change.
