Car Seats - Getting Them Young Ones to The Water Safely

Here's a quick and easy guide for car seats.  This from the latest USAA magazine.

Infants until at least 1 year old and 20 pounds:  rear facing infant seat in back seat.

Children up to age 4 and at least 40 pounds: forward facing seat in the back seat.

Children up to age 8 and 80 pounds: booster seat in the back seat.

Children up to age 13: back seat with regular adult seat belt.

Overall, for children under age 16, riding in the back seat is associated with a 40% reduction in the risk fo serious injury if involved in an accident.
