Fished with Mike Guides Service

Arrived Mikes farm house Sunday 5/17 with my boat in tow so I could hit the farm pond in between smacking smallies on the river.  Hit the river Monday morning about 9:15 only to find a high, muddy, swollen river from the Saturday night heavy down pours the region received. Fishing the first day was tough but I managed to get 4 on a Mikes jig head with a Yum 3 1/2 " wooly bug and Mike manged to land 10 or so bass. Fish were hugging the bottom in the fast muddy water. Water levels dropped and the water began to clear up on Tuesday which improved the fishing. I got on a crank bait bite using a C100 Bandit and managed to catch 22 smallies and 1 Walleye. By Wednesday the river had dropped and the water clarity had cleared up substantially and it was game on for the crank and spinnerbait bite. I caught 23 smallies 1 Walleye and 1 (bonus pic)Pickerel. Numbers were down from what Mike normally posts but the quality was over the top. Mike is a top notch fisherman and I felt like I was out fishing with one of the gang. Anyone that has not been there yet should make plans to go. I know I'll be back next year and if I can swing it maybe this fall.

Without further adieu some picks of some Husky Susky Smallmouth!!!

Endless Mountains region Wyalusing PA.

FishHawk

Nice looking chunky smallmouth.  The North Branch in the endless mountains is one of my favorite areas to fish.  You should be up there when the river is just perfect and you catch 40 or 50 of those chunkers along with 100 or so dinks.  Nice pics.
