Something to try

. I have been using carpet fresh on my boat carpet this year. Since I have been using it I have not had any biting flies nor have the skeeters bothered me while fishing. What i do is after I'm done fishing and boat needs to be cleaned up. I will spread carpet fresh on the carpet. Take an old soft  hair brush and spread it around. This eliminates white spot areas where carpet fresh is spread and also spreads the carpet fresh out more evenly. It only takes a few minutes. I let it sit over night then vacuum the boat the next day. I know for sure this eliminates the biting flies because several time being out I have heard guys complain the biting flies are bad and I never had one bother me. As for the skeeters I think it helped because the aroma helps eliminate the carbon monoxide ( smell) skeeters are attracted to. Give it a try it cant hurt plus it makes the boat smell good
