Painted this one up yesterday. First I primed it, sprayed the whole bait white, gave it gold sides and a silver belly, sprayed some transparent red through a scale pattern (small onion bag), mixed up some gold and iridescent yellow for the throat, then I sprayed the back, eyes, and lateral line with a black/gold mix. I used a stencil cut out of some fine line painters tape to make the fins and lateral line. When I epoxied it, I added some gold and red ultra-fine glitter that I bought from wal-mart. Thanks to crankincracker for suggesting the name for it! ;D

Thanks guys. UNFORTUNATELY there was a little mishap while the epoxy was drying. There are 4 other kids running around my house which means it's pretty hard to keep them away from my stuff. Somehow, the bait was knock to the ground, causing it to stick to the garage floor :(. You wanna talk about a pain in the :ass trying to clean up that mess! I had to hit it with the blowdryer for about a half hour to soften up the still un-set epoxy. I peeled off what I could, and the rest I had to sand and rub off by hand. Looks like I'll be repainting it tomorrow! Oh well, I needed the practice lo. I'll post the pics of the finished product tomorrow. I'm thinking of making some changes to the pattern so you guys gotta let me know which one you like better. The better one will become my official LHS Shad! ;D ;D ;D

Looks like you have turned into Grampa Munster hiding out in the garage all the time. I have some really bad news........It only get's worse. What does your girlfriend think of your new hobby?

I would trade the white for a redish yellow, then you will have a true LA trap!

What does she think? Hell she bought some Createx for me for Christmas! Plus, now she has her own personal painter. All she has to do is say "Please baby?" and I'm out there freezing my butt off- painting another one for her. lo Just painted her one the other night at about 10pm. I'll post some pics up once I get it epoxied. I wonder what my neighbors are thinking when that freaking compressor goes off every 5 minutes....... oh well ~sweat
