good morning,

when fishing crank baits,(all cranks and rattle type baits)  especially in heavy cover(grass, stickups, etc.) take the crank bait and hold it up, vertically, there will be a treble hook and one of the hooks will be facing you.....take some electrical wire cutters and cut off the hook facing you....... ~c~ ~c~ ~c~ this will greatly reduce hangups and besides, when a bass gets a crank bait in its mouth....it won't get off to easy anyway.....

good luck,

So basically the front hook on each treble?

In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away.

I used to do that when I first started fishing crankbaits.  It does work but you do loose some fish due to cutting the hook off, or at least I feel you do.  I have stoped cutting the hook off and it seems my precentage of catches have gone up, also with fishing crankbaits so long I don't hang up as much due to being able to feel the bait better.
