I do not know if this has been said earlier but I decided to do this when I took the Batteries out of my boat for the winter.
I took some masking tape and a permanent marker and cut off some 6 inch strips. when I took the wires off of the terminal I wrapped the tape around that terminals set of wires and wrote a number on it. I did this with all the terminals wires and then I wrote the same number for that set of wires on the battery itself in a place that can be read by the terminal and numbered the batteries before I took them out. That way when I put them back in in Feb. I know exactly what order they go in and where the wires go.

Makes perfect sense to me. A great tip that will save some time and head aches come spring  :-* :-* ~c~

Good idea.  Takes the guesswork out of setting the boat back up to fish.
