HEY JAY DOG  Congrads on you new boat.  ~c~ ~c~

Can't help you on a location cause I have a Z-7 but I was wondering?  In all my years (35+) of fishing bass boats I don't know of anyone with a radio. If you want some tunes wouldn't it be easier to just take a radio with you?

Whatever you decide have fun with your new Nitro and may the fishing gods be with you.

Thanks finfinder....yeah i know alot of people don't care to have a radio on board the bass boat but I do like to listen to some tunes on those slow days, plus i am trying to keep the wife interested in the boat.Just thought it would be easier and less hassle then trying to remember to bring a portable radio,,and to make sure it has fresh batteries..Just need to find a good place to mount it...i was thinking about maybe trying to mount it under the steering wheel....and then put 2 6x9 in seperate boxes with the quick release type connections so i can pull them out when needed or keep them put away when the bite is hot....

That sound like a good place for it and it would also be out of the weather.  I used to have a Triton and they actually had a place for a radio or you could use it as a storage box.

Hope the wife enjoys your boat as much as mine does ours.

My boat is a dual console model and has a spot for a radio...whatdya know, there's one in there...LOL!  I have had radio's in every one of my boats, I prefer tunes while I fish and have found that bass are actually turned on by listening to Bob Seeger.  I think I would put it under the console if there is room.  You may find a model that is designed to be mounted externally (not in a normal radio spot).  Also, I suggest getting an actual marine stereo as they are designed for moist environments.  I had a really nice Kenwood that I had to send back for repairs because it got wet, that can get expensive.  The unit I have now is a Sony that has the connector for the I-Pod built in, that makes taking tunes with me much easier.
