Being an old timer, the wooden jointed Creek Chub Pikie is the bench mark for jointed swimming bass lures. You can pick up a vintage jointed Pikie for about $5, change the treble hooks to size 2 VMC and have a lure that works very well.
Test the newer lure against the old Pikie, the bass may not have seen either one of them. Jointed Rapala's also work well, except they have a much tighter wiggle, the Pikie is a slow rolling swimmer, like todays jointed swim baits.
Let us know how the Sebile works.

I've fished a couple of different colors about six weeks now. Nothing! Doesn't make sense though, they're kinda like the Lake fork Magic Shad, they look great in the water, excellent action and everything, just no takers.

Dido  I have thrown them and they look great but no bites, the followed up with jerk baits and got hit. Guess they have a time and place, I just haven't found it.

I felt that way about soft plastic swimbaits orignally...

Regardless of what people tell you, YOU have to decide if you have confidence in a lure or not...

I will give an example...

I have a friend of mine who owns a plot on some VERY productive old shell pits in Ruskin, FL

He has one lake in particular which is LOADED with shad... they told me to put away my flipping and worming sticks because I didn't need them...

BOY were they right.... they said to throw a lipless crankbait... for years all I EVER through was the old standy Bill Lewis Rat-L-trap... Well the third time I went with them we weren't catching anything...
We were still throwing rat-l-traps but not a single hit... I decided to change to a lure a friend of mine said he would buy from me if I didnt like it, so I decided that was the time and place to try it out...

It is a lipless CB from Owner/Cultiva the 83S if you all want to look it up... Now I dont know if it was the difference in sound, or shape or color... but I was out catching them 3-1 the entire time we were on that lake...

It was phenominal... Several weeks later I had the same experience with swimbaits, I had been using YUM's money minow and the minute I put on a Luck-E-strike swimbait BAM!! FISH ON...

I think you just need a variety of almost every kind of lure, and let the fish tel US what THEY want... we just have to be smart enough to realize when we are being stubborn when throwing the same bait over and over, and switch it up to see what THEY as the Fish want...

I can't wait to get back out on the water...

"Theres a time and place" There is a ton of truth in that statement. The Sebile Magic Swimmer proved itself in two BASS Elite Series this year in the Southeast. Look for it to play another major role this spring also. We have sold hundreds of these baits and have a huge shipment now on the way.

Swimbaits seem to work best for myself when water temps are below 65 degrees but the next guy may have a totally different confidence zone. I'll be throwing around a Sebile here real soon. Gotta love it...

Interesting feed back so far.
I went swimbait crazy a couple of years ago.  gotta tell you they didn't do much.  The only one I had any kind of luck with was the 3:16 mission fish.  but I was buying BIG swimbaits, like Huddleston, and King Kong.  so a 5" sebille magic swimmer seems a little more reasonable.  sorry to hear about the lack of success so far.  It kinda sobers me up a bit.
I wonder, what is the most popular size and color of the magic swimmer?
Oh and thanks for reminding me about the creek chub pikie.  I had one back in the 70's and caught quite a few fish on it before I lost it to a pickerel.
So many lures, so little time.

I think this would have a lot to do with what your lakes bait fish is and there size.

In the Southeast Blue Althea is the hot color with Natural Shiner also selling well. Elsewhere colors such as Hickory Shad, Ghost Violet, White Lady, Rainbow Trout have all been selling well.. Lots of good colors and your best bet is to choose a color that normally produces on the water you fish or matches the baitfish. 5 and 6 inch sizes are most popular but a lot of 3.5 inch baits are sold also. The 9 inch baits do sell well in the West. The 5 and 6 inch sizes do have a wider swim than the smaller 3.5 inch.

We just got in a ton of Blue Althea, this color has been very hard to come by.

I'll trade you a Sebile Crankster for one of them, lol.

I tried the Sebiles this Summer, took a lot of experimenting to find out slower is usually better.  While you can crank these baits quite fast it has not produced much for me that way.  Slow cranking after letting it fall in 2 to 8 foot of water along the edge of weedbeds has produced.  With the dropping temps here in NY I am hoping that these will give me an edge for the bigger Smallmouths and Largemouths by reaching down into the deeper water that I cannot get to with a King Shad.  Using both of these swim baits I am hoping for some good Fall fishing.  Heading out tomorrow morning so maybe I will have some more information later.

Try using it like a jerk bait and pause between every two jerks to let it fall back to the bottom........this bait is design to be fished slow I use a low gear ratio reel to fish the Sebile Magic Swimmer....if you start out swimming slow and then fast it mess up the whole retrieve it kills the action and any bass that might have been intrested swim away......I saw them ignore my bait....your retrieve must be consistent.......

Worked with the Sebiles the past couple days along with soft swim baits and King Shads.  Did not get a hit on the soft swim baits or the Sebiles.  Have no clue as to why, but the Kings Shad were the only lures that produced.  The action on the Sebiles looks great, but there were no takers.  Worked mainly around the deepest green weeds I could find in 60 degree water temps.  Used a 5.1 and a 6.1 retrieve Quantum PT reels.  Tried the Sebile on both and no takers.  The fish I did catch on the King Shad were either while waking the lure or running it just under the surface over the green milfoil.

i have also used it and got a few on it but i dont have the confidence to throw it for an extended period of time......they have great action and look very realistic under water
