A career day on Friday at Silver Lake. Started the early morning throwing zoom horny toads in the pads back behind Ag museum and DSU. Fish were blowing up on them. We caught 5 early, largest in the 3-4 pound class. Water temps here were 75, and turned colder in the back down to 65-68. By 8:30 topwater bite was done and we switched to fishing jigs on wood behind Ag museum and worked our way around towards Blue Coat, can we still call it that? Otherwise, that monstrosity of a new building. Numbers of fish in the 2.5 to 3.5 pound class. finished out the day when it got windy throwing spinnerbaits at shoreline cover. Fish were hungry and eating well. We were going to keep numbers for a sweet final picture at end of day, but livewell was filling up. Began taking pics and releasing so not to harm any fish. Our best 5 fish would have put us around 15 pounds and some change.

For those of you guys that have not had any, or much success throwing jigs...get on them and stay on them. They are amazing baits! I'm happy to contribute any advice when it comes to jig fishing.

Nice job! I need to get my kayak out there and try it out. I fish all around dover but for some reason never really fished silver lake much. That big building where the Blue Coat Inn used to be is a new Irish pub & restaurant  ~beer~

Nice ones Dave... I wish my Ranger was legal in silver lake. Maybe you could pencil me in on your boat for a trip on S.L.D.
