Shimano Citica... Side plate made o plastic??

Is the side plate (or other parts) of the Shimano Citica made of plastic?  Their web page says "aluminum frame", but nothing about the side plates.  It feels like plastic to me.

Yeah, they're plastic, but so what?  It's not like the sideplates are under a lot of stress, and they're being plastic helps keep the weight of the reel down.

As long as none of the stressed components are plastic, I'm fine with that.

It's done to keep the weight down. Most low profile reels that are very light have plastic or a synthetic fiber type material for side plates for weight purposes.
