I have two LMS480's and one LGC2000 antenna. My goal is to run both off the single antenna.

From what heard/read, you take the blue wire of the comm port on the main unit, and tie it in with the orange wire of the added units comm port? And Im guessing you also connect your shield.

Is there an easier way of doing this, using the expansion kit on the network portion of the unit? Running a extension cable off the added unit to a tee connector, tied into the main unit and the gps reciever? Or am I going to have to break out the soldering iron and connect the units through the comm ports?

If both units are already connected to an nmea network, all you need to do is add a t-connector in the middle of the network (middle meaning anyplace between the two end terminators) and connect to the antenna.
