Interested but not that interested in buying a Texas license also.

Why have three tournaments out of state and up to 2.5 hours away?  Might not even win gas money at that distance.  Your entry fees, membership, and pay out sound great.

Elwood,
This club is a spinoff of the Texas Poormans Bass Club, based in the DFW area, and the schedule contains 5 lakes that the Texas folks can also fish without purchasing a Non-resident Louisiana license and still qualify for the Classic. The rest are Louisiana, or border, lakes in which the Louisiana members can qualify. Each tournament is open to anyone, from either state, and there are no points involved so you don't have to fish all the events to qualify. If any member, from Texas or Louisiana, doesn't want to purchase an out of state license then you won't have to and still be able to qualify with the lakes in their respective state.

Another reason that we have put them on there is their close proximity to the Shreveport area, with exception to Rayburn, many of these Texas lakes are actually closer than some of the lakes typically fished by LA trails. Sam Rayburn is on the schedule because there was alot of interest in people wanting to fish that particular lake. If you haven't fished Martin Creek, LOP, or Rayburn then you are missing out on some great fishing and I personally have purchased a non-resident Texas license for the past 5 years just because the fishing is so good in these and other East Texas lakes...but that choice is up to you on a personal preference to spend the extra money if you want to. The opposite is true for the Texas members that want to fish our great Louisiana lakes, and many of them will.

I hope that this has answered your questions. If you have any further, you may contact me at:

Thank you for the reply and you dd answer all of my questions.  I may try to fish a few of these.  Are they team tournaments or individual?

They are team tournaments, but you can also fish solo...but you would still have to pay the full $60 entry fee.  We also have an optional 7 pound Pot ($10/boat), which accumulates and is rolled over to the next tournament if nobody breaks it.

Our next tournament will be on Caddo Lake on Feb. 16th.  We will be accepting membership/entry fees at the E.G. Williamson ramp.  Hope to see everyone there.

Ok, I've had several emails asking if you can trailer your boat. You will be allowed to trailer your boat to any ramp on Caddo, but teams wishing to trailer will not be allowed to leave Williamson park until their number is called.  We will be using the pavilion by the Williamson ramp to register teams until 6:15am, so get there early.  Weigh-in is at 3:00pm, so everyone must check-in by 3:00pm or they will be assessed a 1 lb./minute late penalty and disqualified after 10 minutes.  There will be someone at the ramp checking folks in, so look for the guy with the clipboard and make sure he checks you off.  Please make sure you get the official time before you leave in the morning, too.
Thanks,
Todd

The forecast has changed again, calling for rain in the afternoon and evening on Saturday.  This should REALLY turn them on. ~c~
