GLoomis Rod for $90.00

 Went looking for a new crankbait rod the other day at a local big chain outdoor store and came across a GLoomis Crankbait Series rod for $90.00 I knew this had to be mismarked. MSRP is $200.00. I took it up front to the counter and questioned the price. The sales man told me that "I never would find a GLoomis at that price"
I said, "I just did". This upset the sales man who stormed to the back to speek w/his manager about the mismarked rod. When he returned he threw the rod down on the counter and said " You just got the deal of a life time" He was rather mad, to put it nicely.;   I wasnt planning on buying it until he got all POed and rude.  If he would have said politely that there was a mistake and someone mismarked the rod I would have gladly picked out another rod. But he had to be a jerk about it and now I have "The deal of a life time"
" Deal of a life time" is an awfully strong statement for a fishing rod buddy. Relax

I would have made sure he knew that he knew if it wasn't for his attitude he would have been able to correct the price & put it back on the shelf.

I think I would have snatched it up anyway!

I dont know why he was so angry about the whole thing. Its not comming out of his pocket.

Congrats on the find! I'd also report Mr. Friendly to his superior. Sounds to me like he thought it was coming out of his pocket-so maybe it should

Way to go, I would have flipped him a quarter and said "Since I saved so much money on this rod here's a tip to better your attitude"

When he threw the rod down on the counter I almost said " Hey, be careful. Thats a $200 rod"    I wasnt about to cause a scene. I just wanted to get the rod and get  out of the store asap.

The dude may of had it squirreled away for himself and got upset somebody else found it.

This is the 4th time Ive benefitted from their mismarkings. Although this has been the biggest mistake. I guess its hard to find good work
