Swede,

I just don't understand it we were at Seminole this weekend prefishing for next week and we looked for beds and really didn't see that many..Water temps were even up into the 70's depending upon where you went..Fish Pond Drain for example..We caught fish but they were just 2lbers I don't understand where the big females are..I found an area last week where I caught some fish no big ones but good fish..Went back in there Sat. wind had changed out of the west and it had the entire area stirred up ..Caught two and we left to go find clearer water..Spinnerbait was working but no big fish.

The fish should have been on the beds big time..Saw some bed no fish Saw some fish cruising around in the shallows..

Still off the edges of the first drop the best I canb guess based on where I latched onto the big one.  5-7 feet.  I'd sure like to be there right now - they should be going to the shallows by the thousands.  If I weren't heading to Millers Ferry this weekend - I'd have to find some way to make it back out there.  Good luck - you will get them this weekend.

Fished the Southern Anglers Challenge tournament Saturday.  About 15 teams participated.  Decided to try areas up the Hooch.  Pulled into my first area and started throwing V&M Bayou Bullfrog - nothing.  Switched to a black n blue jig, partner throwing fluke.  Caught 4 out of this area - 2 by partner, 2 by me.  Jig fish bigger (about 3 lbs each).  Fluke fish smaller (2 lbs each).  This all before 8am in morning.  Moved to another area - nothing.  Wind picked up and bites hard to come by.  Went back to first area - lost a 4 pound fish next to the net.  Went up the Hooch to Paramore area - found a small area out of the wind - caught 2 pound fish on the frog.  That was it the rest of the day - went into Fairchilds and fished a couple areas in afternoon with no results.  Weighed 12-02 for 4th place.  15-06, 15-03, and 14-04 took 1st thru 3rd.  6+ pounds for big fish.  Our fish came from shallow water around bullrushes.

Yeah we caught the 15lbs 3 ounces which I sort of knew wouldn't win but I didn't realize it would be that close..Wind blew hard all day which makes it great for the spinnerbait.  I caught a 5lb 14 ounce fish just before weigh in...Oh well maybe next time jh

Fished the Relay for Life tournament yesterday out of Seminole Lodge.  25 teams decided to enjoy the close to 80 degree temps and participate.  Nice ot be wearing shorts for launch again.   19+ took top honors, with an 18+ bag close behind.  Big fish was 6-14.  My brother and I caught 3 fish going 11 or so pounds out of an area on Friday very quickly and left.  We went back there and beat it up pretty good.  Caught 5, but only went 9-13.  Well run tournament - recommended to those looking for a good team tourney to participate in next year.

Fished the Redneck Trail Tournament today with my brother.  Two 20 pound bags weighed and a 19 pound bag took top three places.  We fished areas of Spring Creek to catch our 4 fish weighing 10.26 pounds.  Fish caught on C-Rigged V&M Pork Shad, V&M Chopstik rigged weightless, and Luckycraft Jerkbait worked slow.  Nice fish - no dinks today.  Just didn't have enough of them big ones.  Water vis good in Spring Creek, aout 1-2 feet on the Flint.  Sorry - did not get the temp.  Fish we caught had spawned and were in 6-10 feet of water.

Hey Swede, finally made time to join in.  Hard (most of the time) to beat those local boys at Seminole.  But it always fun to try.  We had 12+ at the Redneck, no check, but a decent day anyway.  Caught'em on Flukes and spinner baits, shallow, ~shhh  but don't tell nobody.  The highlight of the day was when I set the hook (spider wire) and the line broke up by the rod.  About 5 - 10 seconds later, told my partner there's a lot of line out there somewhere, let's go look for it.  Sure enough, found the line and pulled in a 4 1/2 pounder by hand.  That was fun!  Anyway, probably see ya at the qualifier and thanks for the reports! ~c~
Have a good one & thank GOD for it.

Thanks for joining us here Allen - and thanks for the report.  We hunted them shallow for quite a while, then went to the outer edges of the grass and found some.  Headed to the military tourney on Toho Sunday morning early.  Hope to have a good report for that lake when I return.
