Anyone have any reports on lake levels and fishing reports?

Ft. Gibson: Jan 17. Elevation 1 ft. above normal, water 46 and clear.  Catfish good on juglines baited with cut shad. Crappie good on jigs and minnows around docks and brush structure at 20-25 ft. Report submitted Marvin Stanley, game warden stationed in Wagoner and Muskogee counties.
Grand: Jan. 22. Elevation normal and clear.  Crappie fair at the heated docks at 15 ft. around brush piles using minnows and jigs.  All other fishing slow at this time. Report submitted by Jim Littlefield, game warden stationed in Delaware County.

tightline here are the latest fishing reports fom the Oklahoma Wildlife Department.I'll do some more searching tonight to see if  I can find some more info for you.

Thanks Barney!
It seems that getting lake reports is like pulling teeth up there.
The cold weather must really be keeping the anglers hudlled around the house fire.
But then, it's hard to go fishing when the highs are in the 30's.
Again thanks for the info.
I will be coming up to Grand at the end of Feb. to prefish for a tournament.
Hopefully it will get a couple of degrees warmer by then.
Thanks again!
Chuck

fished aba district 65 on grand on april 15th,  late post cause i had never been on grand and didnt do too well with the fish.

it was 35 degrees that morning and warmed into the low 60's by afternoon. the lake was very muddy for you northerners and just a bit stained for a guy from Louisiana. the water temp was in high 50's and  we put in at grove public launch.  a triton tourney was there the same day 100 or so boats put in up the lake around us, so the lake had lots of activity.  we had 7 boats, i fished a number of coves but failed to get bit until i fished in the cove where the launch was, could have saved money on gas and just dropped the trolling motor.  managed 3 fish, 2 keepers on a chart chatterbait, weighed 4.65lb and got third.  1st and 2nd had 9.25 and 9 respectively, the winner had 4 fish, second had 2, one nice kicker 6+.

have got an aba tourney on sunday may 6th and didnt get back there so i will be fishing blind again, but at least i saw a lot of lake last time so with the warmer water i may get lucky.

will post results

pre fished grand saturday for the ABA tourney on sunday, big mistake, big grand rally tournament there.  got on lake about 10:30am and fished till 4.  went to some new areas, but the wind was brutal, could not fish many main lake areas.  the lake was very muddy and lots of debris 64-66 degree water, tried some coves up the lake toward the elk, but only managed one short fish.  moved into the elk and the water cleared up, ran under the hwy 10 bridge and fished some coves there, found an area with bucks guarding fry.  my wife caught a weigh fish and i shook off 2 so we left, i figured i could catch a couple there for the tourney.  we fished a couple more spots close to the launch then left.

Sunday, calm water to begin with, still very muddy.  12 guys showed up so it was going to be a chance for some points.  I ran to the cove in elk and caught 3 short fish on topwater, shad everywhere, but no predators.  went to the back where we left the fish sat and tried for 3 hr to get a keeper bite, caught 10 short fish ( guess i should have set the hook on those saturday to see what size they were!)  i did get one decent bite but it caught me off guard and i did not get a good hookset and it came off, felt like some weight.  the wind really came up again and strong T-storms were predicted for the afternoon so the director made the weigh-in 2pm.  started thundering at 11pm so i ran back to wolf creek to be close to the launch if the weather turned ( which it did'nt) caught a 13 inch on a chatter bait and another right at 2pm on a spinner bait -- big zero, that sucks -- better luck next time.  the next aba puts in at martins landing so i will have to try some other areas of the lake.

Fished a district 65 ABA tourney on Grand Sunday the 27th, perfect fishing weather, cloudy and rainy with just enough wind to keep the pleasure boaters off the lake in force.  put in at martins landing, a part of the lake i had never seen so i was going in blind.  the water was stained to muddy, 72 degrees average

13 fishermen showed and i drew the only non boater so she was going to be impaired from the get.  her and her husband were from kansas and had fished grand enough to have some suggestions as to areas to fish.  we started in honey creek, she caught a 13inch lm bass on the first cast with a buzz bait so the stink was off.  she caught a striper 10 casts later then 3 more casts the line broke in the spool and her confidence buzz bait was on the bottom.

i caught the first keeper on a chart-wt chatterbait, missed another keeper that jumped and threw the lure.  she proceeded to catch 4 or 5 more short fish on baby brush hog and crank bait - shad color.  10am we moved to a cove off of honey and she caught 2 more 13 inch on the crank and then 30min later a 3.5lb on the same crank.  i had been throwing a blade and was contemplating switching to a crank when i caught big bass of the tourney a 5.83lb beauty on the blade.  we both caught several whites and short bass through out the day but she really schooled me- by at least 3 to one .   we moved closer to the landing for the final hour and the wind had really picked up so it was crashing a bank with flooded willows where she caught a 3lb and a short on a blade.  i lost 2 more keeper bites on the chatterbait and a blade with a stinger no less - guess it was not to be.  i picked up one last 11th hr fish on the blade and we went to the weighin.  a lot of fish were caught, mostly in the 2 to 2.5 lb range and the top 6 all had limits and talked of culling fish all day.  14lb won, with 2 in the 13lb and 2 in 12lb one 11lb and me with 3 fish for 9lb in 7th place, but at least i took a check for big bass.

listening to the anglers it was a mixed bag, carolina rig deep and jig and blade shallow most all on main lake points and small coves off of the main lake.

i may get to fish the tournament on this sunday if i do not have to go out of town so i will report results then

good fishing
