The 18th Annual Aviation Bass Tournament is scheduled for April 16th & 17th at Fin & Feather Resort in Hemphill, Texas on Toledo Bend Reservoir.

The entry fee is $20 a team. The only requirement is one team member has to be involved in aviation. At registration you get a free Aviation Bass Tournament hat. Saturday night Garrett Aviation-IAH sponsors a free fish fry and Corporate Rotables sponsors the beverages. The trophies are sponsored by Flight Safety International-HOU. Where else can you get a free hat, free fish fry, and free drinks for only $10 registration per person? With a chance to win more if you're good at bass fishing. All registration fees are paid out 100% to the winners (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Big Bass). After the tournament we have a door prize drawing. The last few years we've had enough prizes to go through the drawings twice with some awesome prizes!

Visit the Aviation Bass Website for more information and tournament results.

This sounds like a really neat deal. Can you explain a little bit about more about Garrett Aviation and what they do, where they are from those kind of things.

Sure Mike,

Garrett Aviation, http://www.garrettaviation.com is an aircraft full service company.  They are an engine manufacturer.  One of the first turbo-prop aircraft I ever flew had Garrett TPE-331 engines and one of the last corporate jets I flew had Garrett TFE-731 turbo-fan engines.  They not only do aircraft engine service but also airframe and avionic service.  They also sell spare parts and are a FBO (Fixed Base Operator).  They have facilities in 9 states and the one in Houston is at George Bush Intercontinental Airport. The best part is that they sponsor a free fish fry at our Annual Aviation Bass Tournament!

CRS Jet Spares, http://www.crsjetspares.com is a parts and support equipment supplier for a wide range of aircraft including: Challenger, Falcon, Gulfstream,  Hawker, Learjet, and Sikorski. CRS Jet Spares sponsors the beverages(Free Beer) for the fish fry.

Flight Safety International, http://www.flightsafety.com is a training facility for pilots, mechanics, flight attendants, and dispatchers.  They have over 1200 advanced full motion simulators from small turbo-prop aircraft up to the big Boeings. They have 42 training centers located in the U.S., France, Canada, and the U.K.. My first full motion simulator was actually in 1985 at Flight Safety - HOU (Houston Hobby Airport).  The best part is the trophies are sponsored by Flight Safety International-HOU.

A1-Promotions, http://www.a1promodfw.com is a new sponsor for the Aviation Bass Tournament.  They are a company located in Arlington, Texas.  I understand they can do amazing amounts of embroidering and screen printing on hats, shirts, jackets, garment bags, etc.  They have sponsored the Official Tournament Hats this year that are free with registration.

I hope this tells you a little about our event sponsors.  We have a great time telling fishing stories, flying stories, and drinking a few FREE BEERS.  Did I mention that CRS Jet spares supplies the beverages for the fish fry(FREE BEER).

Fishingjr , thanks for the info. This sounds like a really good deal guys. Obviously lots of effort has been put into this and should be a lot of fun.

Rattle this would be a great tournament for your boys down there in the Lock Jaw Club, make sure they get the word "Free Beer" that otta get a few of your guys going   ;)

The price sure it right. Fishingjr , involved in aviation? Does flying on an airplane count? I work with about 1200 folks that work on B-52's and will get the word out, obviously they are not all fisherman but if military folks count I surely will let them know about this great opportunity.

By the way how did you find the site Fishingjr ?

Does flying on an airplane count?       Yes, if you are the Pilot.  Remember, only one person in the boat has to have something to do with aviation.  Get one of your B-52 friends and come on down.

Sounds like we are going to be invaded by Barksdale.  We will be glad to have them.

By the way how did you find the site?

I have done a lot of searching on the web for fishing forums and I don't recall exactly what sent me here.  It looks like an awesome site.  Thanks for the room to flash our tournament.

I don't know about invaded but everyone will know about it. lo

No problem on the room to talk about the tourney, thats exactly what this section is all about. As fast as we are going around here I hope more folks start using this section.

By the way if you have a bass club, we offer a free forum where you can get all your members together in one place...... Several clubs are using it and find it to be a huge advantage in staying in touch and discussing club issues. Check out this link

Thanks for taking the time to let us know about your upcomming event.

Just a reminder for the 18th Annual Aviation Bass Tournament scheduled for April 16th & 17th at Fin & Feather Resort in Hemphill, Texas on Toledo Bend Reservoir.

It looks like we are going to have a good turnout this year.  The Aviation Bass website has over 1500 hits and I have received a lot of feed back from the fishing forums that we have posted information on.

We have several new event sponsors and door prize sponsors.  For 2005, our event sponsors include: A1-Promotions, Bombardier – Learjet, CRS Jet Spares, Garrett Aviation, Flight Safety International, and RC Signs.  Please visit our website for more information on each of these fine companies.

If you have any questions, or require additional information, please do not hesitate to contact any of the tournament directors.
