Hayden Lake Bass Fishing Reports

Hi Folks,
OK all you North Idaho bass anglers, here's an old hotspot that is coming
back like gang busters!!! I have been fishing this lake for the past month
or so and "Wow" what a great bass fishing lake. Try just about anything
up tight to any shoreline here and lemme know how sore your arms get
after a 70+ fish day. Mostly smallies, but alot more largemouth are starting
to show now that the water is warming. Bigger fish are holding in 20 feet or less.
Try a dark colored 4" plastic worm weedless or on a jighead and hang-on!

What part of the lake are you fishing? I have never been there, but my friend is from Hayden. Maybe I will come up and try it out sometime. Are there pretty good bank fishing spots?

I fish mostly all over the lake in my boat, but this time of year I fish from the bank for the big
rainbows there. Find any place accessible from the road that has some deep water nearby and
go with power bait, an egg sinker, on a small treble hook and wait till you catch one of those 10 pounders. Trout fishing is excellent right now. If you want to fish for bass write me back and I'll put you in the boat this spring/summer and you'll see what a great fishery this really is.

I've only been out to Hayden Lake once in my Brother-in-laws boat. We went to a cove on the west side of the lake. We found some small bass but not much else. Where is a good place to fish from the bank? What road? I'm in Post Falls and would like to fish closer to home. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Any one out there from the old North Idaho Bassanglers club. I was a member back in the late 80's. Left the state and Now have found this site. Looking to see if there might be anyone I remember from those days.

Hello Fellow Idaho Bass Fishermen,
It's spring and the boat is ready to go.
I'll be posting Hayden and Coeur d' Alene lake's
bass fishing reports here very soon. I have been out
once and you just about have to hit em on the head
to wake em up right now. Today we had our second day
over 65 degrees and I expect thing to start picking-up
any day now. I hope everyone had a good winter.

H20K9, Have you fished Fernan much. I fished it once last summer and had fun. Nothing large but several 10 to 15 inch. I hear it has good Bluegill fishing?? I use an old 1989 Basstracker with a 60 Merc on it. Doesn't run fast but lets me fish.

 I took the old guy next door out to Fernan to fish off the dock. Didn't do too much due to the amount of people, but did find some big blue gill. There is some nice cover all along the bank. Looking forward to getting out there.
