Firstly, excuse my bad english,
I am an owner of a nx 882 DC. I need information about:
- How to install a retractable rod saver in my boat.
- How to make a rod rack for rod ramp passenger under the passenger console
- How to make a rod oganizer inside my rod storage

I am sure somebody have made some of this questions, let me know the way,
thank you very much,
greetings,
Ruben

kato,

I know someone on here made their own organizer but I can't remember who.  I'll have to go look through the gallery and see the pics, cuz I'm sure its there somewhere.

I haven't installed a retactable rod saver or a rod ramp.  I wish I had a rod ramp on my boat.

I'll get back with you, but hopefully the person who built the oprganizer will chime in.

Ohhh yes, beauty rod storage, I am following you soon.
It is usual to see rod rack in front of sigle console boats, in front of rod ramp, but it doesn't exist in many dual console boats. I am thinking in do it with a pair of wood steps or with a cutted box.

I want to do one of them under passenger console

This is the other item I want to install, Have you installed it?

I think you're on the right track. I haven't done either one of those. Just make sure you measure twice (maybe 3 or 4 times for me lo) and cut once! They also make a bolt on kit for the retractable rod strap thats in your pic so you wouldn't have to cut into the gunnel to install it.

Some nice DIY there. I'm looking to try and come up with an idea for rod holders for my little boat. I have a very small boat and use 4 rod/reel set-ups, it can be a bit messy at times.

I've put in the retractable rod savers in two boats. Use the template that should have come with the product.  Put masking tape over the area you will be cutting to prevent the fiberglass from tearing up, drill progressively larger holes until you can fit a reciprecating saw blade into the hole.  USE A FINE TOOTH SAW BLADE!!!!  Then drill small pilot holes for the screws and screw it in.  Remember when mounting the floor piece to allow for the strap to go up and over your rods, if you mount the floor piece as far away as you can it might not hook when you put rods under it.

It is a great advice, I have seen that  you embedded the installation in hull although I have watched that there is an accessory to avoid to bore, nor? What  distances did you put the anchorage?
Thank you very much, I hope to do to a work as professional as yours.

Drill the hole big enouth for the recipracating saw, or to get your finger in and check for any wires.  The hole to recess the retractor is only about 1 1/2" by 2", so you will be able to feel if anything is in the way. As far as the anchor piece on the floor, I completed everything else then took 5 or 6 rods, put them in place and  pulled the strap out & over them to get the distance to mount the anchor.

Good advice, better compute the range with rods in the platform to avoid to leave the assembly too tense.

I wish someone at Nitro would explain why they sell boats that are not equipped with retractable tie-downs. I recently purchased a 2004 929CDX that had those rediculous glorified rubberbands that came unhooked in rough water.  :bang Come on guys, you're selling your top of the line tournament boat with garbage instead of what should be standard equipment. :fishy
Also, why don't you include automatic bilge pumps on your top of the line models as a standard feature? While I'm on my soapbox, I think that the charger hookup should also be mounted in the boat instead of leaving it loose to flop around!  ~rant

I had to spend over $400 to get the above items on my 929 to make it right!  ~rant

I feel better now!  ~sun

I'll agree on the livewell pumpout, that lil switch under the throttle is just rediculous.

Bought my 882 used so it already had retractable tie downs on both sides...
