Just bought this rig (wasn't even looking, but it was a good deal) I know the Merc./force kind of lowers the value, but everything runs well.  Does anybody have any input on this brand/model, or a deal on a cover?  Any help/advice/etc. is appreciated.

Berglure:
I bought a second hand Ranger Cherokee 106 about 4 years ago now...needed to find a travel cover...found one (get the travel tough)...for what I think is reasonable...

Look here:  http://www.go2marine.com/category.do?no=16226 and figure out what your model is...

Love mine...

As for that force, mine is a 98 40 hp...jeez I wish I could get a new one/different outboard (really jonesing for an e-tech)...but the outboard I have now runs like a freakin' champ...probably be around longer than the cockroaches...

Did change out my prop from an 3-blade 11-pitch to a 4-blade 13 pitch...went from 26 mph (GPS GS) to 29.7...

Sounds like a great boat...engine and all...

Yeah, my motor ran strong on the test run (around 43 mph).  It idled, started, and ran fantastic.  I think the later Force engines by Mercury started getting better in the 90's, the early Chrysler ones gave Force the bad reputation.
