Top water early and late, mostly hard baits but a few have been talking about buzz baits. After the sun gets high switch to a large worm in red shad or black pitched to the trees on the edges of creeks. Most productive water has been 4 ft trees that drop off to 8-10 of water. Keep a rattle trap handy as there is plenty of schooling action going on in the main lake, smaller fish and whites mostly.

 8) Me and my dad fished Bistineau Sat. moprning. We caught 4 nice fish. One came on a red shad worm, one on a spinnerbait, one on a chug bug and one on a tiny torpedo in a frog color. Caught these fish in Beckhams in the thick trees in 6 ft. of water. fished from 7am till 12. Did not see any schol fish on the south end of the lake.

Fished Bistineau Sunday morning. Caught several nice fish on white buzzbaits and a frog colored torpedo. The fish started schooling at 9:00am. Most fish were 12" to 13" long. You would catch several small ones and a big one 3 to 4 lbs mixed in with the small ones. Overall it was a pretty good day. :D

Mike, what part of the lake were you fishing.  Not asking for specific spots, just wondering the general area.

Hey,
I have got a tournament on Bist. Saturday and was looking for a little general info about your trip, nothing specific just trying to duplicate the water. Where did you put in??  where the schoolies in the main channel , slough channels, or flats.  Were the pleasure boaters a problem or did you catch your fish before they got out in force.  Were most of the fish you caught school fish or did you catch some before.  Thanks for any info you can divulge.

Do you know where Beckhams camp is? We launched at Beckhams and hit three fish in the trees right out from the ramp. The fish have been in here for the past couple of weeks. If you come out of Beckhams and head toward the channel, this is where they have been schooling. The schooling activity has been on and off, one day they come up all over the place, the next day nothing. All of the bigger fish are coming out of the thick trees 6 to 8 ft of water using a chug bug, frog colored torpedo and white buzzbait. We have been able to launch, catch a limit and never crank the big motor. Good luck.

Fishing the ALBC Top 10, we fish five 2 man teams, you can have 2 fish per boat, then you cull to the best 5 fish for the weigh-in, I am hoping to catch at least one fish to make a contribution.
