Need Some advice

Mike and Laurie: New message board looks great!

Was wondering if anyone had any ideas on a good place to get out in the local Shreveport area this weekend...Got a friend coming into town and would like to get onto some fish.

you can meet me at the stoner launch saturday morning (tomorrow) at around 5:15 and follow me to my catfishing spot. it is about halfway between stoner and the port lake. all you need is an anchor, about 150 feet of rope, about 3 rods/reels each and some weights/hooks. i will catch enough shad for everyone. bring a little ice chest to put your shad in so they will not get mushy. me and my buddy aaron went last saturday afternoon and in only three hours we caught about 40, with several pushing 10 pounds. it is a lot of fun, and you rarely go more than a minute or two with out a bite. hope to see you there.

I have already offered to help a friend fix his boat Saturday...so I am going to have to pass. Thank you for the offer!

Think I will be hitting the river Sunday morning don't know about yet about Saturday night...

the port lake is on the east side of the river, between jimy davis bridge and clark's. almost halfway. it is just north of the port of shreveport. it is a really big oxbow that has some good fish in it, if you know where to fish. the entrance is a little tricky, so be sure to go slow. there is also a brand new lake right across from the port lake. i haven't been in it yet , but i saw it saturday while catfishing. holler if you need some more information.

They opened up that lake across from the port lake?

? I went in there once about 4 years ago, but someone filled the entrance with big concrete culverts and junk. I will have to check it out....if I go on the Red.

oh, mr.noble, no longer do you have to idle thru a narrow opening. they have dredged out a huge entrance. the dredgers were working over time on saturday. it is a cool new spot.

It is real muddy in there right now with the dredger working, some of our club members caught some good fish in there before the dredger started working overtime.

Well that is great. Before they filled in the little opening, I heard that some good fish were caught in the back of the lake. I might have to venture down on the River someday to check it out, but I hate to spoil my record of not fishing the River in 2003.

Looks like they are going to have to anyway, I tore my back up and they put me on some drugs. Now they are telling me that the norcotics will make me to unstable to be Playing with Nuclear weapons. Go figure, I think they see me as a liability risk now

Sorry, I didn't realize that you were the glue that held the entire air force together. I also didn't realize that drugs could affect dealing with nuclear weapons....I thought nuclear weapons alone were too dangerous to mess with.

I hope your back gets better....so you can "set the hook" and "get the net".

just make sure that you use caution when you are operating that "heavy machinery"!! don't want to accidentally run over the neighbor's house or anything.

I hope Mike isn't operating the boat while under the influence of those "awesome" drugs....he hits pilings when not on drugs.

Fishing is proof that men can commit!!!!
