Looks like you got some great experience and daily job skills, need to put some info in this about how you can support your sponsors, how are you going to make the sale for them ;)

John,

I deal with hiring and reviewing resumes daily.   What most companies look for is specific activities, accomplishments and achievements that will set you apart.

The best way to do this is to show Bullet points under the heading that will highlight your achievements.  ---- It seems silly because most of us are modest but you have to "ham it up" and show them how good you really are.

For example -- I would really play up your US Navy experience --- Do you have any stand out awards, achievements?

In your tournaments fished did you ever catch Big fish or heaviest bag for the day?  ---- Remember that even a little thing like that when worded correctly can look really good!

My point being if you just tell them you fished tournaments and and your education level it doesn't catch their eye.....

I think it is great that you posted your resume and asked for assistance, (good move) If you want, put together a list of some of these additional achievements, and email them to me and I can help you word it for impact.  (remember nothing is to small --- list all the things you did in the Navy or at Tennessee Tech, or community service and especially fishing related activities)

It's short and sweet.

I'd elaborate.  20 years in the fishing industry is soooooooooooooooooooooo wide open.  What do you mean?  How will that help your potential sponsor?
