There has been lots of activity and several members wanting a board specific to making tackle and building rods. So here it is ~c~ Let's put it to good use and get the information flowing :toot:

This is the kind of stuff I love to read, so lets get posting and learning from one another. I know that if we show each other some tricks that everyone will benefit.

Yeah, this board was a good idea.  I haven't built a rod, but I sure have thought about it.

I've been following the seperate threads about tackle and rod building with interest. This forum will allow me some "one stop shopping" to keep up with the discussions ~c~!

Looked into building a rod, even got some catalogs from different companies, just haven't had the time or space to tackle (lo) this job yet. This forum will sure help when I do!

I actually got pretty seriuos a few years back with the rod building project. There is a high demand for custom rods out there and not just in the bass world. Might be another project starting up soon  :-* Can't wait to hear about everyone elses ventures.  :)

Good place for info. Haven't made any lures in years though. I used to make lures for the charter boat operators on Lake Michigan when I was only 17.! Many moons ago. But they caught coho like crazy!

Big lake lures are a big business here, marco

we are on the lee side of lake michigan......holland is the closest pier to me....about 8 miles west of my desk

I have many friends that are salmon nuts....i enjoy it, too.....however,it runs a distant second to working a jig on a deep weed edge   :)

I tinkered for awhile with making the dodger/fly combos that are hot here the last few years, but the market is restricted, as compared to bass jigs, and there are lots of guys doing it around here....same with flutter spoons, etc

Had fun doing it, fished with a lot of the charter boat captains out of Burnham Harbor.
