Since I start here the FAQ board is hard to find things in, I know we have answered every question in that area and some more then once! What I would like to do is set up easy step by step posting on each topic that we have in there now and question members ask of my team.

I know that we have all thank Laurie for all the times she has walked us something new we could not get, but I think its time that we took this over for her. If you say go for it I will work with others to draw up step by step information on how to do said task. Then post them in here for final review and after everyone is happy with it post them there. With this done we can dump some of them posting in the Bass Fishing Archive and make it easy for other to find answers to commin questions.

This is a good idea, all the info is there the problem is that some don't have a title that is really Representative of the threads info. Working up directions and then walking threw them to make sure they work to the tee and leave no room for confusion is a great idea.

So what do you think of them and do you have any subjection on them?

Kal-Kevin

just highlighting this before I post them, since no one was said anything about it since 12-2 I get the feeling everyone is ok with them!

Looks good to me.  Anyone else have thoughts?

Looks fine, but before you post run through each tip step by step to make sure you do exactly what it says and see if it works.

Sometimes we that know what were doing over look something out of habit.  If you follow the instructions step by step without doing anything it didn't tell you to do and it works, post it.  ~c~

Kal-Kevin

Fogy I did that twice and it worked great for me, its now posted and now we will see what other topic might need a little refining!  ;)

Mike Cork

Kal, looks good except for a couple minor errors.

"1. Click on your "Profile" button located in the Menu bar above" (adding menu might be more obvious to new users)

"6. Place the address of the photo you want to do there" (maybe change DO to USE and THERE to HERE in this sentence and it would read better ;)

•   A max size standard limit of one hundred (100) pixels in height and 350 pixels wide.
A siggy is allowed to be 450 wide instead of 350 However I am sure you cut and pasted this so I am going to look ;)

I did copy the rurles right out of the rules in that area!

will make the needed changes, thanks for pointing it out!

Okay the rules in the LUGTKY board do say 350 so scratch that for now.

We have a ton of siggy's on the forum between 400 and 450, I am going to talk with Laurie first but.....

I am not normally in favor of chaning rules to suit members that continue to break them, however on this one I know I have told folks that the limit was 450 and I have been living by that for quite some time now. I think if we go through and address the members that are over 350 now they will get upset because we keep changing the rules and it will make a lot of work for us. In this case and this case only I believe it would be better to change the rules to 450, let me talk with Laurie first before we take any actions.

In talking with Laurie we decided to allow signature lengths up to 468, this is the website standard banner length and will make it easier for sponsors to adjust their banners into a signature for the site.

However it still can only be 100 high and even though all size requirements must be met the most important part is that they are under 20KB in size.

Please put a word out to your moderators to work this, there are quite a few siggy's that are out of regulations and need to be fixed. Let's shoot for the first of the year to have them back in standards. After that I am liable to just delete them if they are not in compliance.

Kal, make sure you change the limits on length in your FAQ post ;)

will do it tomarrow night when I get on, its late now and want to check out the rest of todays postings.

Mike Cork

Kal, Looks like Sharon and Ho shi hijacked your thread for posting a siggy? We need to curb that some how, that board is meant to be informational not a gabbing session. I got this one, and in the future, we need to shut folks down as quickly as possible.

Looks like it got back on track, I left it alone

ok had to help a member out today with how to put his sponsor in his siggy so this is what I posted and thought might as well use it for others that may ask the same question in FAQ! Oh I did take out the personal notes on not using his sale to his posting since its in the rules.

Help with adding a sponsor to your siggy

First I'll add the rules for them at the botton of this posting just to help you keep it in the limits!  ;)

Now I will tell you how to do it:

1. Click on your "Profile" button located in the Menu bar above
2. On the right side of your screen you will see "Modify profile"
3. In that box you will click on "Forum Profile Information"
4. Scroll down to where you see "Signature:"
5. type in your sponsor name here
6. hit the change button at the bottom of the page.

Rules governing signatures:

   • Must be below 20Kb in file size.

Ok what do you all think and if your ok with it I would like to post it in a few days!  ;)

Mike Cork

That should work, however you might have to tell them that after you put your sponsors website address and close the brackets you need to put your sponsors name and then the to finish it off  ;)
