Frost on Cross this morning

Well I am beginning to understand why they call Cross the Dead Sea,no real fish biting Today.Only 2 weigh  fish caught in the whole club,My fishing partner got 1st place & bbwith .280 something.MR> BIG MOUTH caught the other fish,me if we had benn fishing for trash fish I would have had it hands down,1 Gar about 5 or 6 and 1 shad 1 1/2 or so,almost froze in the process.About every third cast I had to De Ice my rod eyes.I gues its like they say though,A BAD DAY OF FISHING IS BETTER THAN A GOOD DAY AT WORK.
     Oh by the way both fish were caught on RATTLETRAPS.

Hi Don and thanks for the report...sounds like that was a tough day....it is a challenging lake and for me and others the bite allways seems to change from one trip to the next..

Had a similar day on Cypress though with the ice...first time I've ever seen my guides ice up....

Thanks for the report again...probably hit Cross myself in the comming holidays..

It's going to warm up here for a few days, so I'm going to see what the lake will give me. Were you hitting the deep water?

FLOATER THE BIG FISH CAME OFF A POINT ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE WEST END IN ABOUT 4-5 FT. OF WATER,HE HIT A GRASS BED & RIPPED IT LOOSE THATS WHEN IT HIT.WATCH OUT FOR THE GAR IT WAS THE SAME AREA

Just about where I usually fish. I don't mind the gar. I like setting the hook on them unless I'm using soft plastics. Thanks for the report.

wow what a day.......cold as heck this morning fixing to launch my boat and realize my dang steering is frozen ....can you believe that????My buddy lauches his boat and a hose busts so its letting water rush in his boat.I stay at the dock for a while to try and help.He ends up having to go to a auto parts store to get a new hose.
Well I finally go fishing using trolling motor only......dont catch anything.Finally my steering cable thaws out so i can go running.I hit a few spots and nothing.
I m fishing a rattletrap in a shallow grass bed and acutally catch a bass...imagine that  lol
Put the fish in the live well and go back to fishing.Check on the fish a little while later and the dang livewell is empty ....crap  drain valve not sealing up i guess......
Then about an hour before weigh in then one of my trolling batteries craps out....dang.

But had a great time including freezing my --- off. Cross sure is getting really low
