Guys,

Take  your old fishing gear, the stuff you have outgrown or upgraded from and give it to some big brother organization or a single mom that wants to give her boy (or girl) something positive to do.  You might even give them some of your time.  The bright and beautiful smiles and thrills you get to see make it more than worth the cost of the old tackle/reel/fishin pole your not going to use anymore.  Pay it forward, brighten someone's life and it's going to come back to you or someone you care for multiplied.  I recommend contacting a local big brothers and big sisters organization, a orphanage or go to Freecycle.org and sign up for your local freecycle organization.

I know this isn't strictly a fishing tip, but well worth your time (not much) and effort (cleaning out the old).

Support them kids in their fishing endeavors.  Great tip!!!!  If you want to make a great contribution to society in general - this is a great way to do it!! ~c~

I was involved in the Big Brothers-Big Sisters program for a few years and these super kids love to try new things and you may just turn a few of them into future Ultimate Bassers - now how greta would that be :-* :-*
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small.

Come on now guys and gals, this is not only good for fishing, it's good for the children in our towns and villages.  These kids need to know there is something better than drugs and crime and general misbehaving.  If I hadn't learned to fish, no telling what prison I would be in now.  Not only do I want you to read this tip, I want you to participate in some kinda of program that allows us to take our old gear and give it to someone, or maybe organize something within your local fishing clubs to sponsor a fishing day, and show them how to use fishing gear, then give them some.
Now is a good time to start planning something like this for the spring.

Oh, and please vote for this tip in the tip of the month poll.  thanks.
