Well, The skeeter I was looking at was a loss...Poor think was a '01 and looked 20years old. Trailer was shot, along with wheel bearings, bolts holding them motor on the transom were loose just very poor shape not seen in pictures.

Well the finance guy is trying to make it right on his part and got this in on monday and giving me first shot at this. 01 or 02 Nitro NX882 with a Merc 150 hangin on the back. Said there are 2 small chips in it, which he could either have fixed or sold as is. Said he was going to list the boat for $13,500. Fixing the chips he would sell it to me for $12,500 and leaving them as is would sell to me for $11,500. Minus the 2 small chips the boat looks really good and well kept for, but sometimes you just cant avoid bumping something or whatnot.

Heres some pictures, Im really liking the color scheme on it.

Chips look like this:

Havn't received the full list of stuff it comes with, but from the pictures it looks like a jackplate, hot foot, radio?, some kind of minnkota trolling motor.

Nice looking boat.  We have a couple of guys in our bass club with that model boat...railroader and dave the dope man.  You might shoot them a PM and get their thoughts.

ok thanks. The chips aint structural or nothin but a small eye sore, could always paint the fiberglass black to blend it in some or throw my BASS stickers over them lo

OutdoorFrontiers

I'd look up the boat on something like http://www.nadaguides.com, with adding the extras that you know about.  You might be surprised at the actual value of the boat.

It doesn't look like a bad deal to me, but I'd have the guy fix the chips.  But that's just me.

yea im thinking that aswell, just up in the air about fixing them. I know fiberglass work on boats and stuff is expensive, but what if they suck at doing repairs and it ends up looking worse? lo I dont know, thats just my type of luck I guess.

OutdoorFrontiers

Well, if it was me looking at the boat, and I'm spending over 11 grand for thing, I'd want it looking as good as possible.

If the repair doesn't look good, then refuse to pay the extra money for it!  It's pretty simple really.  You pay for what you get!

when all is said and done Ill be spending $9,000-$9,500 depending on how much I want to put down. I have $2,700 in cash and $3,000 is doable but Might save some money and have them deliver instead of driving 5.5hrs to the dealership.

Still a chance to have a nice boat at a good price either way.

All in all looks like a nice boat.  Does the motor still have a warranty on it? because I know that Nitro and merc have offered a 6 year warranty on there motors. Just something to think about.

Like the colors.

Bane

The finance guy is out of the office today, Have to ask him about the warranty and a couple other things tomorrow.

Railroader

I have a 04' 882, to bad you dont live closer cause i could sell you mine for the same price and in better shape..

Bane

anyone else have any info on this boat?

BassBUFF

RR's or the one your looking at?

Bane

neither, just the boat in general. likes/dislikes stuff like that.

Well I went from the 640 to the 929 so my preference is for Nitro.  I like the wide casting deck, other boats have the same beam width but oncepast the drivers seat turn in to lawn darts I.E goes right to a point.

Mitch and RR own the 882 and could help you better but had I not needed as large of a boat as I have now I was looking hard at the 882.

they don't have all the standard things a 9 series has but then they don't cost as much.  I would take nitros hands down right now other then a Legend.  Even as much as I like Legends their front deck isn't as wide as long as the nitro and for me being 6'3 255lbs I like my room.

Good luck.

Oh is it the XR6 or Opti or EFI motor?

Bane

thanks fogy so far the boats options (owner/dealer included)

hot foot, jack plate, hydro foil, clarion am/fm/cd, minnkota maxxum 74# thrust(I believe it was 74, its 70 something), Lowrance LMS337, Lowrance X71(cant remember). And a couple other things, list is at my work.

As for the motor, thats in a email at my work, I cant remember. Just glanced over it today.
