Got home this morning and thought about htting the water. It rained pretty much all the way home and to the river.  Got on the river around 4:45am and started chunkin the Sizmic Toad.  About 20 mins later got the first fish, lil bigger than a keeper,no pic though.  There were bout 15 boats around me all morning and I only saw one other guy catch a fish.

Ran around to three different spots and still no luck ...I was contemplating going home around 9:00am when I rode up to see if the fish I had been on were still there.  The past two trips, they weren't there...Sure enough, a no show.

Was digging a nasty backlash out and trying to get the slack out of my line, so I made a long cast when this big girl hit, Best fighting bass I hve ever caught. She made 5 runs under the boat before I got her in:

This has to be the biggest/longest bass that I have caught in the past 5 years.  I would LOVE to see this fish full of eggs.  Her left eye was about to buldge out.

About 10 mins later, I felt a hit and set the hook...nothing. Then all of a sudden a small fight, not like big mama before her:

Not as long as the first one, but it was still atleast a 5 lb fish:

I was getting ready to leave when I decided to make a few more cast.  Here is a healthy fish that make 3 good jumps before I got her in:

They were biting, but when the  ~sun finally peeked out, they shut down.  Plus I was out of worms.   :roll2:

Great report!!  those kinds of days don't happen that often.   I am moving to Guntersville in the next few months and can't wait to get on that lake!!

I am planning on fishin a tourney last sat of sept.  Only problem is I have never been on this lake before.  I need someone to map out a few spots to try.
Good report. Looking foward to getting up there.

Here is a fishing hotspot map that I found on ESPN's website. I have not had a chance to check out those spots. Study it a little and there is sure to be some spots that are good.. Let me know if any of the spots are anygood.

Just wondering, what is the average temperatures for the Huntsville area in January through March.Possibly could move to that area in the near future.

It can get quite cold (for us southern folks  :roll2: ) Esp in Jan and Feb, but the fishing action is good year round.  If your thinking of moving to the Huntsville area, you have the Tennessee River all around you!!!!
