Which pro-Bassmaster would you like to see win it all in 2005?  Why?

dave the dope man

Good question Fish, I am kinda torn on this one. I would have to say either Gerald Swindle or Joe Thomas. Gerald because of his personality not mention his expertise, and Joe because I have watched him for years and by God he's due for it....I enjoy watching the both of them yet I would have to support whomever can keep up the pace and take it all....Dave

I'd love to see Harold Allen win a classic. Talk about due for one. He's been out there fishing and being a Close but no cigar for so long. He's a great guy and has more than paid his dues. Swindel will be one to watch and Don't take your eye off Greg Hackney. There's an Illinois angler I'd like to see get a big break Chad Morgenthaler, So many choices seeing Vandam win again wouldn't be bad either. You couldn't ask for a better person to be the represenative of our sport.

I have quite a few I have met that I would enjoy seeing on the winner's platform either for the first time, or for a return.  Woo Daves is one super guy and has put in so many miles.  He and his wife do so much charity work.  Another great one is Larry Nixon.  You ought to see he and Woo together.  What a trip.  Alton Jones is a real up-and-comer as well as Randy Howell that I'd like to see win the Classic some day.  I could go on and on but it's getting late.  :(

I would like to see Davy Hite win it all.  He is a great guy and fun to fish with.  And his wife is a CPA.  ~c~

Tough call on this one, since there are so many out there that I would like to see win the big one. Gerald Swindle is definitely a favorite, he is one of the rare guys in that what you see is what you get. Marty Stone (hometown favorite) is another of the good guys I would like to see hoisting the trophy.

When looking at the field of play up there in Pittsburg, some guys jump out as favorites. Woo Daves tops that list, I think that water should suit his style of fishing. Kevin Van Dam is another to watch out for up there. Ike could do it again also (don't shoot me  ;)).Larry Nixon is another one, he does well on the rivers also.

Just my thoughts......

I like Vandamn, fun to watch, I like learning the different ways he works a spinnerbait. Joe Thomas is another I would like to see make it, very good sportsman & does well showing us what its like on the curcit trail.  I do like Ike & don't think he did anything wrong with his actions & celebrations after winning the classic 2 years ago.  Nice to see some excitement on stage.

I love questions like this. It always starts a big debate. I think Greg Hackney is going to be one to watch out for, but, I would love to see Thad Takes, last years federation winner, win it. He is going full time this year on the tour and I think his story would really help out bass fishing. Showing how the small town guy, Center Point, Iowa, started with a normal job, electrical contractor, and got the chance to make it with the big boys. He is very well spoken and is a lot like all of us. Down home guy who just wants to fish. Plus, did I mention he's from Iowa.
