Kankakee 7-22-06 High Water!!!

I just got back from our day on the river. I'm afraid to say it but we were  sk  !! I can't believe it. We had 5 boats with 10 guys and we had a good time but sure would have liked to catch some fish. The river is very high and moving fast. So we fished back in the bayous most of the time. I was able to get into some bayous that I've never been before and it looked great but the fish were lock jawed!!!!! Through toads, tubes, worms, snagless sally, buzz baits, spinners. I even got out the red worms at one point and still couldn't buy a bite. It was fun being on the river with some friend though!!!

...still, you got to spend some wonderful time with my favorite lady this morning...the Kankakee, she's beautiful in any light.

Man she does look muddy. Thanks for the fishing report Mike seeings how I am laid up still. I am having withdraws learn to read the river and the more time you spend on it will  pay off. Thanks for the photos Mike and the report. That river has tamed the best of fisherman. It was a beauty of a day to be out wish I could have been there
