I'm B-a-c-k... lo

Had a super trip and wonderful time on Cypress...Rented a cabin from Sunday night till today....

Was impressed with the lake and the facilities...

Anyway...daytime bite was tough for me and really concentrated mostly on night fishing after first morning....Generally fished till around 23-2400 and back on the water generally aound 0400...

Caught plenty of bass...at night....with slots and unders and the occasional over....here's one.. :)

Looks small in the pick but was 5lbs-11oz......caught on black/blue spinner..single large colorad blade...that bait also seemed to be the ticket most nights....caught a few on worms and craw worms but the spinner was the best bite...not much on buzzbaits...most fish came off lighted boat houses..

Also did some catfishing and caught plenty of them...baited an old trotline a friend told me about and also had 9 of those noodle floaties I'd put out at night and pick up in morning....caught the best ones on the floats baited with liver....best cat was near 4lbs... :)

Also saw one of your competitors in the Friday night fruit jar tourny....watch out as he had about 16+ pounds of fish in his boat including a nice 7lb-11oz beauty.....He was fishing in an Alumaweld boat similar to mine.....I'll post a pic on that later..

Anyway..might join you on those Friday tourny's now.. :)  Not sure about this week as I got the Cross tourny tomorrow and a night tourny on Grand Bayou Saturday night...but probably will... ;D

BTW...Was almost no boat traffic on the lake after Sunday afternoon... :)  and we sure made one possum happy everynight in our garbage can.. lo

Hey Scottie, there is no slot on Cypress.  There is on Black Bayou, but not on Cypress.

 :roll2: DUH !!  ~roflmao

I was saving them for the fruit jar tourny... :) And that's my story and I'm sticking to it... ;D

Not sure where I got the slot thing..sure thought there was.. lo

Thanks,
Scottie

Question on the Cypress Friday fruit jar...Would the next one be on July 21?
And where do folks they launch at?

Thanks,
Scottie

BassBUFF

That's what Mike said last night. They launch at the South ramp on Parks Road.

Hawgwild

Thanks Bassbuff...I'm not sure where that launch would be...Could someone post directions?  I know how to get to the state park and would be comming up Airline off 220..

Thanks,
Scottie

BassBUFF

From 220, go north on Airline until you get to Linton Rd and turn right just like you're going to the State Park. You will turn right on Parks Rd at the Citgo Station. Follow it down a little over a mile. You will see a Volunteer Fire Dept. station then lakes on both sides of the road, slow down. The entrance to the launch is on the left. Be sure you have a lake sticker and pay at the launch box. Good Luck!

Hawgwild

Thanks Bassbuff and yep..I got a new sticker last Sunday...

Thanks again and see y'll next tourny..

Mike Noble

Yep the tournament is next week, July 21...$20 per boat and $10 per boat ($5 per person) for big bass.  I won't make it next week as my son will be in town visiting.  We'll be on a different kind of boat.  lo
