didnt want to glam onto DW's thread.

but I had a fright last October.  regular doc checkup turned up alarming results.  I needed to lose weight.  10% of my body weight.  I was hammering my liver with fatty foods.  I was casually jogging to improve my cardio for one reason:  TO ENJOY my next visit to the Amazon river to fish for Peacock bass.   the heat, the physical exertion working the baits, made it like Crossfit.  I can picture the need for an AED for some clients.  my HR never went below 100 while fishing.

I ramped up my physical activity, and I started eating right.  figuring out 10% of my body was mental math.  didnt even need paper/pencil..or my calculator.  eating right was:
no red meat
no white flour
no white rice
no sugar.
no huge servings.  I worked it out with a dietician.  oh, no alcohol at all!!

I jog 3 miles every single morning at 5:00 am.

well, it has been 4 months now.  I lost 15% of my body weight.  217 to 187 (this morning). 30 pounds.  my doc is about to take me off blood pressure meds.  my skin is clear.  no mid day sleepiness. all biological functions seem good.  my resting HR is 58bpm.

two days ago, I parked in a garage with a broken elevator.  on the 6th floor.  I had to pay the ticket in the lobby and run up to my car before the time expired to get my car out.  I got there and never thought about anything but finding my dumb work-car!!  10 minutes running like a fool that forgot where I parked.  hahaha..

sadly, my Brazil trip is postponed because my brother spent all of his money.

posting this to inspire myself to keep it up.

Congratualtions!

I admire you motivation.  I am trying get mine going for much the same reasons you mentioned.  I'm not up for 3 mile runs, but my wife and I have started an exercise routine going.  Now, I've got to get my table manners in check!
