I had such a good time fishing the area last week that I decided to take out the Bass hunter again this week. Arrived at zero dark thirty, to a rainy launch point. Not heavy rain, but a steady light rain. As I was prepping the boat ready to launch, another truck pulled up, to launch as well. Sped up my loading process, and off I went.

Conditions looked great at first. Over cast skies, with light to zero wind. The only thing missing from the equation was audible or visible feeding action. The water is still up significantly, so these bass could have been anywhere!

I have learned from fishing this area for the last few years, that I don't need to travel too far from the launch point to get a pulse of the bass mood. The fish quickly told me, top water wasn't going to happen. Tried the middle column, with a swimbait, caught one bass an hour into the trip, along with a few swipes and misses.

Stayed in the area for a spell, and got to meet Shallow Thinker. We spoke briefly, and he was kind enough to share what had been working for him. It was a pleasure to have met you sir.  ~beer~

At this point, I changed gears, and slow things down. I decided to throw some finesse soft plastics. Fortunately the decision worked!

From the get go, the area came to life for me. I caught a little bass right off the bat. Threw right back to the spot, and landed a beautiful 4+ lbr.

Finally after fishing for more than 2 hrs, I found my rhythm. Figured out the cover and structure the bass were relating to, and I began to steadily pick off bass. Many were small, but I did managed to stick a few decent bass along the way.

As 2:30 rolled around, I called it an outing. Landed 20 bass, top 5 was close to about 15lbs. Not the best, but considering the conditions, I'll take it.

Thank you for reading.

Ole Froggy went finesse fishing? It must've been tough! Glad you caught some.
