I just got my boat with a 150 VMAX HPDI, and I was wondering whats the best kind of oil to use?

hey keep in mind the ONLY oil to use is Yamalube. You also can check with the guys at Reeves and other places to see if you can buy it from thier bulk tank. Alot of places get it in 55 gallon drums and sell it to you in your jug for about half the cost of new bottles. Let me know if you need anything.

I went into Reeves on Friday, and the service department told me if I bring my empty jug its only 12 bucks a gallon instead of 25 bucks everytime for a new one.

dont forget if the motor in a newer model you need to also run ring free in the motor. I know some that do not and some that say merc prem plus is a good replacement but the tech can tell if you don't. I did not believe they could till I saw two motors that they had at the bridgeport test area. Even I could see the diff between the one running ring free and the one without. it is not cheap but hey it is cheeper than a new motor if something happens. What would be considered a newer model? Mine is a 2001. Where can I find ring free?

Any where that sells Yamalube should have it but not sure you are required to use it with that motor. Ask the service guy. I can say it would not hurt to use it though. It works.
