Every time I fish Lake of the Ozarks I see the MONEY. Million dollar homes are nothing. Docks that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. And the boats...

Pretty much I just shrug it all off. But I saw this one yesterday. Wow. I really don't know how to take this. 2500 hp on one boat. Just wow.

Never been to LOZ but heard lots of stories about the place.  That's a lot of horse power there for sure.  I'm sure if I was to travel up to Dallas / Ft. Worth area I'll find boats like that on those big lakes up there also.

While I was living in Alaska I saw a few boats (Charter Boats) rigged out with multiple outboards like that at Whitter, Alaska on the Prince William Sound.

Donald I can show you TRITOONS with two and three motors, upwards of 400 hp each. So weird and so wasteful.

The only reason he doesn't have six of them is because he ran out of room. I could sell one and buy TWO new 200's...

collectively as a group, i see all of you as talented, cool as hell fisherpeople.

lets not worry about some random strangers, "stuff".  just leads to misery.   i like where i am at.  in a plastic zero horsepower boat.  hahahah

bassmedic46

Never saw that before. Definitely compensating.
A bad day fishing is better then a good day at work. Take a kid fishing

D.W. Verts

You can't help but see all these folks "stuff". It's everywhere on LOZ. And this boat, about 32' long, some sort of a flybridge contraption, is NOTHING compared to other boats on the lake. I just saw those five engines and I sort of went "wow".

Other folks crap means nothing to me. I've got enough crap of my own to deal with.

the wildest part is, im sure that its not the only one.  Secondly, that lake is not even that wide in a lot of spots. the wake has to be ridiculous, even more than it has ever been before at  that place.

wish i could go back to when i was like 12-13 in November and catch tons of kentucky bass and whitebass on crank baits and topwater all day, especially when it was windy.  Then go sit in a crappie house all night and slay crappie

I thought about doing a YT video, running up the main channel at 1 PM on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Then I thought to myself, "why?"

You can't believe it without seeing it. Hundreds of boats, many over thirty feet long, plowing. Just plowing. I've seen eight foot rollers behind a bigger boat (and one time THREE of them together, all fifty-plus feet, side by side). The wakes bounce off each other, and you would think they would cancel each other out to some degree. Nope.

THEN they bounce off the rock bluffs and seawalls that surround the lake. It's amazing and one of the contributors to my, and many others, back issues.

I refuse to do this any more. Sometimes it's pretty bad during the week too, but only from mid- April to mid-October or so...

i was out there in say 2017 in October.  Weather was crappy, thankfully, except one day and that was bad enough.  Could not imagine a Saturday in May or June.

Thought about moving there, once, then said no.  Same for Table Rock, and decided against it.  TR is the next once great place to be ruined.

Big fish in a small pond. Half the boats on Summersville Lake are 40'+ cigarette boats and most of the rest of them are either 30' yachts or wakeboats. There's few high hp pontoons as well. Summersville is only 2700 acres with 60 miles of shoreline. Claytor isn't much better, Claytor is about 4500 acres and 40 miles of shoreline, Wake boats and jetskis probably outnumber most of the other watercraft there. The biggest problem on both Claytor and Summersville is that there's seldom any law enforcement, most of the people on either either don't know or don't care about safe boating regulations.
