Let's here it. What is your top 5 favorite lakes (or any body of water) to catch bass in Florida? It could be a little bank fishing spot or one of the more famous bodies of water. Here's mine off the top of my head in order.

5 Satori's: Used to be the hottest lake in Florida and many pros would fish it and keep it a secret. Access is only during high water periods through 3 Forks Marsh or by airboat. Roland Martin has featured the area in his videos multiple times. Always a great chance to catch a ton of fish along with a big one.

4 Florida Everglades Canals: Pretty broad area but with Capt. Lou as a guide, 100 fish days are a strong possibility. Bass and peacocks!

3 Bike Ride Pond: This lake is on one of the FWCs Wildlife Management Areas and is a 3 mile bike ride one way down a levey to get there. It's worth the effort! Big fish are frequent.

2 Headwaters Lake: Always a fun place to fish with a good chance at a trophy. Good quality and good numbers of fish.

1 Vero Trophy Bass Lakes: An amazing fishery. Big bass and lots of them! I think that the location is no longer open to the public? I'd love to go back.

Yes, Vero Trophy Bass Lakes are several lakes that are privately owned by a citrus company. The lakes are used for irrigation and are in the middle of orange groves. They used to have guided fishing trips.

My trip there in April of 2021 was one of my most favorite trips of all time.  Would go again in a heartbeat if I had the chance.

When I lived there years ago, I liked the Kissimmee River, both sides of the Dam off of HWY 60.

Piece River was another good area at times.  Off the shore, by the canoe base, if it is still there even.

Lake Wales Lake was pretty good at times too.  The boat ramp was steep and scary though.

I had permission to fish some of the pits back in the mines and there were HUGE fish back there, it is an experience I will never forget.  Sometimes you had to find another spot because of the gators and moccasins taking claim.
