Yesterday, FLStorm and I witnessed for the first time, active tarpon feeding in Everglades. Cool to see. Has anyone landed one of these Tarpon on an artificial lure? I know guides hook into them with live bait. But I want to hear about artificial lure encounters. Thanks!

I've never seen them at Holiday Park. We used to get into them pretty good on Okeechobee at the mouth of the Kissimmee River. Topwater baits, mostly spooks. I bet the BOYO would work.

I think the boyo may have worked. But the tarpon were extremely skittish. As soon as you saw them, they were gone.

I know they are in Davie on the Griffin Road canal and State Rt 7 by the flood control gate.  Also in the 84 canal east of the turnpike.  I saw a guy hook and fight one that went out of the water about 6 feet up.  A fantastic fight!

Yers ago on of my sons caught a Tarpon out of Belle Glade in Lake O on a spinnerbait.
