Hello All I'm a newbie here and I'm looking for some advice. I recently purchased a 2003 Bass Tracker PT175 Special ED in great condition. I would like to upgrade the electronics and add a third battery for Decklights and green external lights. My question here is. what batteries should I get? Should I run the leds and fish finder on the same battery

Currently:
24M-XHD Interstate battery for the motor and Lowrance HDS7/ X102c fishfinders
27-DP-DL for the trolling motor

Proposal:
24M-XHD Interstate battery for the motor
27-DP-DL Duralast for the trolling motor
27-DP-DL Duralast for the Lowrance HDS7(front of the boat) Lowrance Hook Revel 9TS(console) LED deck lights and LED Greenlights.
NOCO Genius Gen 5x3 charger

Thanks Mike

Welcome aboard! ~c~

Some folks like to have separate batteries for each. One for trolling motor, One for Electronics, and one starting/livewells etc. I think the majority of us use the starting battery for all of the electronics including lights, livewells, etc, and a separate battery/batteries for the trolling motor. That's how most boats are configured from the start.

I see nothing wrong with your proposed configuration. I'm all for Lithiums myself and you can find some great LiFePo4 batteries for not a lot of money. LiTime has 100ah Lithiums for about $250 each. A 100ah LiFePo4 starting battery will cost a bit more. Lithiums will weigh about 23lb each and with one for your 12v trolling motor and one for starting and everything else, I doubt seriously that you'll ever run either down during a whole day of fishing.

I've been running Lithiums for several years now for my TM and switching to a Lithium starting battery this year. I used to run Group31 Duracells for years (great battery), but the 100ah Lithiums have them beat. Group 31 Duracells weigh 74lbs, so I lightened stern weight by 100lbs and will be lightening it by another 50lb this Spring. Your NOCO Genius will charge them just fine, mine does.

Mike,

First welcome to the UltimateBass Family we're glad you're here  ~c~

I'm with Princeton_Man here I run separate batteries 31series for my 24volt Trolling Motor.  I have a separate cranking battery 29series I use for my electronics, livewells and lights etc.

Looks like you have a good plan in place if you got the room for everything.
