Day two of the two day championship (Day one was on Bistineau) I got to prefish one day and only had one bite. I expected today to be tough but the weather was much different so I still had high hopes. However the same lake that produced 29 pound stringers in August, clammed up and was brutal tough.

Day one, first and second place anglers didn't catch a fish day two. I managed one that was right at five pounds and another pound and halter giving me 6 and a half to add to my 19. Both came on a beaver. I spent the morning with buzz baits, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, basically just covering water to find some fish.

My two were not enough to slow the charge of a couple great anglers that only managed fair stringers on Bistineau but found them here on Hosston. Since I only weighed two fish, had I found a limit I would have pulled this out... Gotta catch a limit... are three 10 pounders  :surrender:

Still pulled out 3rd place for the Championship and 2nd in the Angler of the Year race.

Sounds like a tough day. Glad you were able to pull out 3rd place. That lake can be a tough one. I've fished some lakes that are tough because there isn't enough cover, but that one is just the opposite. So much cover that it can be hard to figure them out in time to do any good.
