Sunday July 16, 2023 we had a freak storm blast the area. There was a tournament on Cross Lake. Everyone was prepared to get wet when the rain line blew through but what happened was completely unexpected and sunk a couple boats.

I know we all say we are going to respect Mother Nature, just please be prepared for the absolute worst.

What was supposed to be a rain line turned into a raging squall line with winds in excess of 70 MPH. The boats that were lost were hiding from the lightning in boat stalls (something we all do) but the waves coming through the stalls over took the boats and sunk them on the spot within seconds.

This boat got pushed out of the stall before it bottomed out. Fortunately our lakes aren't very deep. So everyone is safe other than the loss of their boats.

Watch your phone apps and take the warnings seriously....

That's terrible, gotta respect those storm warnings...

Nation wide we are having miserable weather all over the place.  Over the fourth a micro blast on the lake house we rented in NC destroyed several big homes, and hundreds of old growth trees came down and blocked the roads, and killed the power.  Strange happenings. ^-^

I'm glad everyone made it through unhurt.
