Welcome to our SJHT 9th event of the 2023 Season where SJHT anglers traveled to Central Jersey to battle at a WMA Trophy Lake where 15" is the min.

The PINK gave up the usual sub 15" Bass with some catching even smaller Bass in the single length catagories.  Others, were fortunate to miss and land bass that seemingly and suddenly just pick up your baits and started swimming away.  Keeping an eye on your line and feeling that quick tab was the key.  As we make our Central Jersey swing, we're at the halfway point of the SJHT season.

So....Let's get to it.

Today,  of SJHT finest came out to battle and catch the Mother Load at the ever changing Assunpink Lake. So with the majority of the Grass being wiped out and previous hide-outs pretty abandon, anglers had to resort to old memory and areas where the channels related to points and throughways.  Anglers were on them early but upgrading to better Bass seemed elusive. No matter where SJHT anglers started, there were suddle bites but piece mealing to the larger size Bass was not only daunting but came in spurts.  I guess that fishing.

Without further adieu, please give a big congrats for the 2nd Straight week in the winner circle Bill *The Hammer* Leach on winning 1st place and Lunker   by weighing in a Bag of 3 Bass going 9.50lbs.  Bill's Lunker went a hefty 4.08lbs    Also for the 2nd straight week.....2nd Place was won by Dennis *Jiggen Den* Toentino with 3 bass going 9.40lbs.  3rd Place was won by Jackson *Silent Assassin* Fu with with 3 Bass going 7.85lbs.     Miscellaneous was won by Rookie member and 1st SJHT Tournament of the year Steve *Mr. Pickeral* Albright with a snot rocket going 2.06lbs.

Summary: What a Day!!  Weather Forecasters called for 70% Thunder storms starting around Noon-1pm Time frame.  We lucked out and got off the water relativity quickly and held weigh-in without a drop of rain.  Now driving back home was another thing.  Anyways, Anglers were kept busy tossing dink size\Sub Par Bass back into the water....waiting for Mobey Dick to hit.  There were decent Bass caught today.  Anglers caught a total of 16 Bass....giving way to 43.21lbs which is approx. 3 more lbs. and 8 Less Bass caught at our previous tournament at Cooper River Park.  The avg. weight was 2.70lbs....which is a full 1lb more avg. from Cooper River.

Overall....  4 Anglers caught there 3 Bass Limit.   8 out of 11 caught at least 1 Bass. We had 1 dead Bass that was deep hooked but overall the rest were released to be caught another day.  Thanks and good to see new Rookie Members Steve Albright and Mike Pilles out on the water today. Hope to see you guys at the Squan.

Congrats to Bill Leach, Jiggen Den, Jackson Fu, and Steve Albrightr on your performances.

Next up is MANASQUAN RES. next week.

Tightlines,
