What a day!  Yesterday I thought I had Covid and I skipped fishing. Doc said it was allergies.  My meds finally worked and I went to sleep w my alarm set to scream at 3:30am.   I felt good so I left for the 2.5 hours drive.  My semi-secret lake. I have to take a long Jeep trail to get there.  I figured them out!   Water was crystal clear and the bass were so wary. I was crushing it.  I lost count.

Only a few crazy  boaters will drag a boat up that dirt road. I usually have a lot of room to fish. It is so lightly pressured.

Congrats!  Is there many float tubers? I used to love to go to secret lakes with my tube. When my buddy and I were young, we used to sneak in a fish a flooded quarry. It was full of 8-15" bass, and it was one of those places where if you missed a fish, another would eat your bait before you reeled it in. Wasn't uncommon to catch 100 fish between us in 3 hours. Unfortunately that quarry is now a parking lot for a large shopping complex. Miss this good ole days!

no float tubers.  lake seems too big for that.  no..i did see one float rig in the back of a truck.  the coolest was the fly fishermen.  there is a step plateau.  on top, the elk feed, the next level, drops into the water is and 2 -4 feet.  fly fisherman wade this section and crushed it. i was at the next drop.

i might go back Friday.  or Saturday.
